I approach life and art as an explorer. I am not afraid to make new paths and to experiment with new techniques and tools. My paintings and photographs are not direct renderings. I strive for essence, not likeness.
For me, making art is about how the subject makes me feel. It is about sharing feelings and impressions through brushstrokes, colors, designs and textures in my paintings and through the translation of light in my photography. I seek to share my expressions and impressions in ways that leave room for you to feel and to see what you want in my interpretations.
No matter where I roam with subjects and styles, I seem to return to interpretative landscapes and florals because these are the spaces and things with which I love to work. I have a strong connection with nature and prefer to be outdoors, walking, biking, kayaking, painting, really just being.
