For me, the world of intuitive and intentional art is, in a big way, about “story-telling.” Art can tell a personal story and it can be a place where our big story, collectively and mythically, may be explored. Patrons often tell me the artwork is welcoming and multi-layered and they feel invited into a story and become part of it. Patrons also claim the images seem to offer inspiration and insights and invoke a sense of peace within the space they occupy.
My art often is about creating balance, honoring life/nature, powerful love, our inner strengths, and revealing the sacred within and around us.
The works include human forms, multi-cultural symbols, visionary/mythical aspects, divine feminine and archetypal images, and elements of nature (animals/plants/trees). Words in the form of prose, poetry, and prayer often are hidden or visible in the layers of the art.
I work in clay, acrylics, collage, pastel, touch drawing (print making), charcoal or in multi-media on a variety of surfaces. Giclee prints of some originals are made available. I also create traditional and contemporary prayer beads.
I have spent over twenty-five years creating arts programming as a teaching artist and social worker. Both public and organizational workshops use art in expressive and contemplative ways that support self-awareness, well-being, and personal/spiritual growth. Keep an eye out for public classes I will be offering at The Millworks.
I look forward to meeting you. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-756-0120 or, best of all, stop into the studio!
