SUMMARY:Advanced acrylic pouring with Ann Benton Yeager
DESCRIPTION:If you have taken Ann Benton Yeager’s basic acrylic pour class or have poured on your own\, now it’s time to dive into her Advanced Acrylic Pour Class and learn how to pour more difficult\, but insanely fun\, techniques. Ann will demo two different techniques on a large (16”x20”) stretched canvas\, and you can decide which one you want to do. SUMMARY:Spring Flower Suncatcher With Kathy Mina
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 19\, 2026- 1-2:30 pm\nCapture the essence of Spring with a Spring Flower Suncatcher.  Students will create Floral designs in a round or square shape using fused glass. Students can learn how to cut their glass or use pieces already cut. After creating your sun catcher\, Sycamore Shades Studios will fire it in a glass fusing kiln. In approximately 1 week\, you will pick up your sun catcher at the millworks in Studio 317\, Sycamore Shades Studio.  The time that you take to create your art is approximate and will depend on the design that you choose. The time is usually about 1.5 hours\nThe class fee is $45.00 and includes fuse glass\, supplies needed in glass art\, firing of glass\, and a chain or cord for hanging. \nClasses are for ages 12 and up * Ages 8-11 are welcome with an adult.\nTaught by Kathy Mina of Sycamore Shades Studios.

SUMMARY:Painting Large Abstracts with Linda Benton McCloksey
DESCRIPTION:This is a 7 day class \nClass dates: May 9\,16\, 23 / June 20\, 27 / July 11\, 18. \n9:30 to noon  (new time)\nSkill level – beginner to the more experienced. \n\nHere’s your chance to learn how to paint large and you don’t need experience! We will be painting in acrylic and mixed media on canvases 20 x 30 or larger! Many demos are included as well as color harmony and composition. You will learn lots along with having at least 5 finished paintings upon completion of class. You will also receive a painting tutorial video each week. If you don’t have experience\, great! Linda will help you gain that experience you need since many of her past students had no painting or abstract experience at all. You will start each day with a demonstration with all questions answered – Linda’s promise to you…you WILL LEARN! Class is limited to 8\, so don’t wait. DESCRIPTION:Weekend workshop: Oct 31\, Nov 1 \n9-4pm \nTopics covered: \n• Painting Demonstration – 4 oil painting guidelines\n• Simplifying with parent colors\n• Color mixing\n• Big brush advantage\n• Straightforward compositions\n• Importances of Edges\n• Creating depth in your painting\n\n\nOil Painting – Paul Gallo 717-608-7190 \nSupplies can be bought locally at Michaels or on-line at Dick Blick or Cheap Joes. \n  \nBASIC OIL PAINT COLORS: Ultramarine Blue\, Cadmium Yellow Medium\, Cadmium Red\, Alizarin Crimson Permanent\, Burnt Sienna and Titanium White \n  \nPAINT BRANDS:  \nRecommended Professional Brands: Windsor Newton or Gamblin   \nLess Expensive Recommended Brands: Gamblin 1980\, WindsorNewton “Winton”\, or Utrecht \nMichaels\, Dick Blick and Cheap Joes usually have 9-color paint sets for about $45 which will work fine.  \nI don’t recommend using the cheapest student grade paints. \n  \nPAPER TOWELS – 1 roll of paper towels \nBRUSHES: \nBrushes come in three basic shapes – rounds\, brights\, flats and filberts.  Rounds are long and tubular\, like a watercolor brush.  Brights and flats are flat and square\, with brights being short and flats being long. Fiberts combine the advantage of flats but creating the softer paint edge of a round. I use mostly brights\, flats and filberts\, but each type of brush gives you a unique mark. \nBring whatever brushes you have but it would good to have these four. \nRound: #6 or #8 \nLarge flat or bright; about ¾” to 1” wide \nSmaller flat or bright; about 1/4” wide \nBring whatever brushes you have and feel comfortable with. \nPALETTE: \nDisposal palette paper or Plastic sealable palette \n  \nPALETTE KNIFE: \nMetal palette knife\, size about 4” in length. (For color mixing\,scraping paint\, laying-in bold color and cleaning the palette.) \nSOLVENT/ AND CONTAINERS: \nTurpenoid (odorless substitute for turpentine) and a container to hold Turpenoid. (Tuna cans work well) \nWater container for acrylic. \nCANVAS OR ART BOARDS: \nTwo stretched canvas\, canvas board or Masonite. Common sizes9x12” or 11×14”. \nPlease bring good reference photos to paint from. Photos on your phone are too small\, so get a good photo print of any phone photos you want to use.  Photos reference on your iPad and laptop are large enough to use.
