The resilience of animals and the power of nature to create and destroy inspires me in everyday life. Animals create harmony and balance in life, not only spiritually, but also physically. My love for animals and nature nourishes my soul through my artistic expression. I enjoy using various media to create functional designs such as serving dishes, sun catchers, ornaments, night lights, and magnets.
In the mid-1980s, while attending Moore College of Art and Design, I met Cindi Hardwicke and her son Justin Pettingell in design classes. Together we are Sycamore Shades Studio. Cindi and I have remained as close as sisters through the years. Recently, we discovered we are distant cousins.
