Cindi Hardwicke
Studio #215
As a child, Cindi loved to sit in the shade of a sycamore tree on her grandfather’s farm in Virginia. As an adult, she imagines herself there, dreaming of new ideas and creations. Working in a variety of art forms and mediums, she’s especially loves clay and glass, and the
possibilities that each brings to the creative process. Her finished artworks come in the form
of Sculpture, Glass Home Decor and Ornaments, as well as, Jewelry.
A graduate of Moore College of Art with a BFA and Teaching of Art Certification, Cindi has
worked as a Children’s Wear Designer, Costume Designer, and Scenic Artist in Philadelphia. After 5 years in Philadelphia, she returned to Central Pennsylvania to begin a new creative chapter in her life, as she began teaching Art at Londonderry School. After 35 amazing years of being inspired
by the Art & Joy of children, she is retiring in June of 2024. Her ‘retirement plan’ has become the Millworks.
Cindi has a special interest in creating collaborative work with her son, Justin, and her cousin, Kathy.
Their sculptural works are inspired by Nature and Fantasy Art, often culminating in the creation of
Window Installations and Shadowbox Enchantments scenes that tell a story with a multitude of fantasy creatures
along with props and details that help you imagine yourself becoming tiny and wandering around
in the world that they created. Many of these works have been exhibited at the Metropolis and
Lebanon Picture Framing and Art Galleries, The Art Center School and Galleries of Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvania Art of the State and Art in the Wild at Wildwood.
Inspired by her students, Cindi has also begun to work on DIY Kits of Gingerbread Houses,
Fairy Houses, Halloween Houses and Color-Your-Own Ornaments, all with open-ended
creative options. She will be offering child and adult workshops whenever possible.
